Visit to DAPL pipeline construction site outside Standing Rock

As we left the Standing Rock protector camps against the DAPL pipeline projects, we stopped by the location of the direct action of the day prior that saw two protectors (not protestors) lock down to construction equipment while 50 others stood in solidarity, effectively halting construction at the site for the day. One thing to remember is that, though the Standing Rock resistance has halted pipeline construction at the Cannonball River camp locations, construction for this multi-billion dollar pipeline is ongoing all around the camp, for miles and miles and miles. Here are some quick words from master carver Jewell James, as we stood where the pipeline crossed Highway 6. Forgive the noise, it continues to be a very windy day:
